The Blanco Independent School District encompasses 378 square miles of beautiful Texas Hill Country located primarily in Blanco, although touching or including sections of Hays, Comal, Kendall and Gillespie counties. Blanco is 45 miles north of San Antonio via Hwy. 281 and 50 miles southwest of Austin via Hwy. U.S. 281 and 290 West. The city of Blanco s population is approximately 1,500.
